cause everytime i go to houston or dallas i see a major accident and people just ride ur but like if they forgot they could die in a car accident, so im sure 8am is insanely horrible traffic and lots of accidents, so if u got caught up in and an accident traffic jam like 4 days in a row can they fire u for being late, and on average how long does it take u to get to work?

If you were late once or twice because you got caught behind an accident, then I doubt you would be fired. However four days in a row? At that point it becomes your responsibility to leave for work earlier than you have been. Leave a little earlier in the mornings to allow for the unexpected. I doubt anyone has ever been fired for showing up to work 10 minutes early four days in a row… but I’m sure plenty have been fired for showing up late on a regular basis.
As to “can” you be fired for it…absolutely. Unless you have a signed contract stating very specifically what the grounds for dismissal are, then you “can” be fired for anything.
