If it’s taken on a contingency basis, it’s typically around 1/3.

If you’re the defendant they will take whatever you agreed to pay them per hour. If you’re the plaintiff, you may negotiate an hourly rate or a contingency fee (typically around a third). If it only took a few phone calls, the scrupulous attorney may even waive the contingency and just charge you the straight hourly cost, if it’s much much less than a third.

that depends on what you agree to they can take up the 25% of the settlement plus what ever other costs they tack onto it for administrative costs court cost etc some lawyers will ask for a retainer fee
in order to even take the case that does not come out of a judgment reason is you may not win any $$$
judgment so the lawyer will get nothing if you don’t but you still have to pay the retainer and his billed time and most lawyers charge about 300-500 an hr they work on the case make sure you read the contract really good before signing you may agree to something you don’t agree with don’t sign unless you fully understand whats before or you may wind up paying out you settlement to attorney fees
happen to a friend he got screwed cause he glanced at the contract and didn’t
read it the lawyer sued him took all his money and then some more
hope that helps
