I am almost out of meds, i have been in several car accidents one severe and i cannot drive without my xanax and cannot hardly get out of bed due to severe back and neck pain. I have called a doctor and the second I mentioned these two drugs they acted like I was someone seeking drugs and said they need a referrel from a GP, i dont have one and can hardly afford to goto one doctor, actually i really cant. I am 25, unemployed, my company went out of business ( i owned it) and I really need to get my medications filled so i can look for work, what do I do? please help, thanks
You need to have the doctor you are seeing now fax a request for your medical records to the doctor who was prescribing your medications before you moved. Most doctors will not send your medical records directly to you, but have no problems sending them to another doctor. You will have to sign a release form to let them do this. The Hippa (health inquiry patient protection act) laws are strict about releasing your information with out your approval. Now days doctors are afraid to give out pain meds especially Hydrocodone and Oxycontin type drugs because they are so widely abused.Dallas should have a county clinic that charges on a sliding scale, depending on your income. You could contact your old doctor and have him send your records there. My doctor passed away last year and I had a heck of a time getting the medication I need for my pain management.I had to do just what I told you.Go to the clinic talk to a doctor and have them request my medical records from my deceased doctors office.I'm a nurse and still the doctor I have now would not prescribe my medication without my records.

You said "they acted like I was someone seeking drugs".You ARE! You played right into they're evil hands. You let the doctors make you an addict! They prescribe narcotics INSTEAD of treating the source of the pain! There are are treatments for various kinds of pain, but the Doctors don't explore them, they just keep giving you drugs that are manufactured by the Drug Empires that keep hospitals running.
You are stuck now.The only way to get your life back is to turn to the people that strung you out to begin with for rehab.Once they establish you as a defective fiend, and once they convince you that it is YOUR fault, and NOT theirs',they might be able to find a couple of specialists who can help you a little. That's the way it works. The A.M.A. is the Mob,basically.

for me, i think everybody should try herbal substances like kratocet/kratom instead of opiates like vicodin etc…your liver and stomach can process it much better and it's not making dependency like vicodin

See a few docs let them know your situation, put your anxiety out on the line and tell the docs how you really feel , tell them of your past treatments and how it worked , tell them your not addicted and the dosages wont need to increase and see what they say, some docs are priks others are chill , it takes more than one try
